Referrals and repeat business make up the majority of our extensive client list. We have completed the interior design of primary residences and vacation homes locally and nationally, including California, Arizona, Montana, Michigan, Wisconsin, Florida, North Carolina and New York.
Madeline Gelis
After beginning her career in corporate design, Madeline realized that her greatest joy is in creating homes. She understands the importance of helping clients refine their style to reflect their personal history. Her world travels have given Madeline an appreciation of ethnic artifacts, timeless classics, and a variety of cultures, enhancing her versatility, creativity, and aesthetic as a designer.
Madeline Gelis is a graduate of the Harrington Institute of Interior Design, where she taught design courses and received a Distinguished Alumni Award. She is also a longstanding professional member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID).
Dedicated to preserving the area’s rich architectural and historic treasures, Madeline has served on the Board of Directors of Landmarks Illinois, the state’s leading voice for historic preservation. She currently serves on their Emeritus Board and is a member of the Chicago Council on Global Affairs. Madeline also serves as a co-mentor with Ageless Innovators, a program of Chicago Innovation and The Village Chicago.
Madeline is available for speaking engagements. Past presentations include those at the Woman’s Athletic Club of Chicago and the Women’s Exchange in Winnetka, as well as numerous real estate firms.

Services
Furnishings
Madeline Gelis begins her work with a conversation with clients, listening and assisting them to define the vision for their home. Once a clear direction is defined, the design process begins with floor plans and the selection of furniture and fabrics, followed by art and accessories. To complete the home, Madeline and her team coordinate the delivery and installation of the furniture, art, accessories and personal collections.
Construction
With renovation or new construction, Madeline and her team work with architects, developers and contractors to produce seamless and polished results for her clients. The design process begins with the preliminary plans, followed by construction plans and review of shop drawings. They compile detailed specification books that include the selection of all materials from tile and plumbing to custom cabinetry, flooring, lighting, stone, etc. Her team oversees all aspects of a project while consulting with clients, contractors, vendors, and trades throughout the process.
